As soloist in Berlioz' Harold en Italie, Tabea Zimmermann will perform in the opening concert of this year's edition of the Musikfest Berlin together with the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Harding.

For her solo album with works by Max Reger and Johann Sebastian Bach, Tabea Zimmermann will be awarded an ECHO Klassik 2010 as "Instrumentalist of the Year (Viola)". The CD was released by myrios classics in 2009 and has received rave reviews by numerous international magazines. It was selected as "Editor's Choice" by the Gramophone Magazine and received a "Star of the Month" by the magazine Fono Forum.

The award ceremony will take place on 17 October at the Philharmonie Essen and will be broadcast live on TV.

In September, myrios classics will release another CD recording with Tabea Zimmermann and pianist Kirill Gerstein performing Sonatas by Brahms, Clarke and Vieuxtemps.
