+++ Hans Werner Henze's opera 'Phaedra' in Lucerne +++
On 8 September, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mark Foster will perform the opera at the Lucerne Festival. The production which was stage directed by Stephan Müller will be shown again on 12 and 18 September. Upon its world premiere in Berlin in 2007, Phaedra had received enthusiastic reviews.

+++ The Ruhr Area celebrates Hans Werner Henze +++
With possibly the largest homage any living composer has ever experienced, the Ruhr region, European Capital of Culture 2010, honours Hans Werner Henze. More than forty institutions join forces for over 200 performances over the course of the year.
One of the highlights of the year will be the premiere of Hans Werner Henze's new music theatre piece for young people. Gisela! or: The Strange and Memorable Ways of Happiness will be premiered at the Zeche Zweckel in Gladbeck on 25 September.
